Artist Statement

I paint and collage abstracts in bright, acrylic colors: patterns and geometrics, mandalas and doodles. I also love the art nouveau designs of the Glasgow Four, giving them my own interpretation. An amateur painter, I hope to grow as I continue to experiment and practice.

Painting is only the latest genre in my art journey. I wrote and published a bunch of books for children and adults. You can see (and order?) them on the Books page. I also have made upcycled jewelry, prayer beads, dotted rocks, signs, and song lyrics—-all this after I retired from teaching high school English in 2009.

My work can be seen at the seasonal shows held at Dorland Mountain Arts Colony in Temecula, California. Check the Events page.

I create to keep my spirits up, not to make money. My goal is to share my work with others in hopes that bright colors and fanciful shapes will spread the joy. Meet me at an in-person event if you are visiting southern California. Failing that, send me a message via the contact form.
